Every Sunday at noon you can watch a traditional Mexican rodeo at the Lienzo Charro Rodeo Grounds. Mexican cowboys, known as charros showcase their riding and lasso work and put on a great show.

Just an hour’s drive from Guadalajara lies Tequila, the home of Mexico’s famous agavebased drink. The Tequila Express operates on weekends from Guadalajara, and is a fun way to tour the distilleries while taking in a bit of the history and culture of the area.

The home of Mariachi

Guadalajara is known as the mariachi centre of Mexico. Mariachi is a traditional music group unique to Mexico. Originally mariachi were street musicians but are today professional entertainers.
