Turkiyeye Hosgeldiniz...
Welcome to Turkey!
Turkey is a land full of historic
treasures, the legacy of 13 successive
civilisations spanning 10,000 years.
In this friendly and welcoming
country you will experience an
incredible diversity in nature, culture,
history, beliefs and ideas.
Embracing two continents - Asia and Europe - the city of Istanbul has been the capital of three successive empires. The former Byzantium was renamed Constantinople by Emperor Constantine when it became the capital of the Roman Empire. Captured by Mehmet the Conqueror, the city became the capital of the Ottoman Empire, assuming it's present name – Istanbul. Each empire has left a legacy of rich treasures and monuments attesting to it's glorious past.
You will be fascinated with the endless variety of museums, churches, palaces and bazaars that this magnificent city offers.
