Generally hot & dry year-round. Winter (November to March) is ideal for travel with daily temperatures ranging between 14 to 25°C and cooler nights. Summer (May to October) is hotter with temperatures up to 43°C in southern regions however it is a dry heat with low humidity.

Temple of Queen Hatshepsut – At Deir El Bahr on the West Bank is the mortuary complex of the only female to reign as a Pharaoh. It is as spectacular in design as was the reign of one of Egypt’s greatest characters.

Philae Temple - Beautiful temple complex dedicated to the goddess Isis.
Abu Simbel – Located 280km from Aswan (flight), the temples of Ramses II and Queen Nefertari are among the most spectacular monuments in the world. Built more than 3000 years ago their relocation during the 1960’s by UNESCO (due to the construction of the High Dam) was in itself an historic event.
In and around Mount Sinai
Mount Sinai - Believed to be where Moses received the 10 commandments. Marvel at the breathtaking scenery as the sun rises over the barren mountain peaks.
St Catherines Monastery - Built on the site of the Burning Bush.
In and around Alexandria
Founded by Alexander the Great in 331BC, Alexandria is a 3 hour drive from Cairo and is Egypt’s second largest city. Highlights include the Greco-Roman Museum, the Catacombs and the new Alexandria Library.
To the west lies El Alamein, site of one of the most decisive battles of World War II.
