Singapore’s climate is warm and humid all year round. Temperatures range from 23 to 31 degrees. The rainy season is from November to January with December receiving the most rainfall

Voltage
You will require an adaptor for all electric appliances taken to Singapore. The standard voltage is 220-240V, 50Hz

VISAS
Australian passport holders do not require a visa to enter Singapore for stays less than 30 days. Entry requires travellers to have at least 6 months validity remaining of their passports from the time of entry. Please contact your travel agent at time of travel for current visa information.


 Currency

Money
The basic unit of currency in Singapore is the Singaporean dollar (S$), based on 100 cents to one dollar. Coin denominations are 5c, 10c, 20c, 50c and S$1. Notes are 2, 5 ,10, 50, 100, 500 and 1000 dollars.

Tipping
Tipping is not a normal practice in Singapore. Most hotels and restaurants already levy a 10% service charge on the bill.

For electronics and electrical appliances this is the place to head. Four floors of shops with stereos, DVD players, cameras, video cameras and more. Be sure to shop around for the best deal.

A national heritage site with cobblestone courtyards, you will find ethnic stores with handicrafts, jewellery and homewares among other things. There is also a choice of restaurants, cafes and wine bars too.

176 Orchard Road


Among the largest and most popular shopping centres in Singapore. Here you will find Robinsons & Co department store and Marks & Spencer. You will also find a range of specialist stores within the complex.
