 Climate

Temperate - varying from region to region. Cold winters and warm summers in the centre, north, and Paris. Mild winters and hot summers in the South. Humid with cool summers on the Western Atlantic coast. Harsh winters and hot summers in the east and mountainous areas (Alps, Pyrénéés). The seasons are; Spring in April and May: Summer from June to August: Autumn in September and October: Winter from November to March. Remember the French seasons are the reverse to Australia

Taxes
VAT (Value added Tax). This is a tax that is added onto the sale of goods & services. It ranges between 2-20%.

Tipping
Tips or service charges are not usually included in the bill.  As a rule, a tip of 10-15% of the total amount should be given.

Visas
Currently Australian passport holders do not require a visa to travel to France, however please contact your travel agent at time of travel for current visa information.

France uses the Euro (€), denominations of coins consist of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 & 50 cent, 1 & 2 Euros. Notes are 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 & 500 Euro.
