Traveller's Secrets

Where to Eat

U Matouse
Preslova 17, Smíchov

Traditional dishes plus innovative but still authentic explorations in what Czech and Moravian cuisine is all about. Give 24 hrs notice if you want to feast on roast duckling cooked as it really should be.

U Sedmi Svábu
Jánsky vrsek 14, Malá Strana

This is the place for a rollicking medieval feast. Sit around the big hearth or at companionable benches and dine on genuine 15th century dishes while listening to minstrels play.

U Medvídku
Na Perstýne 7, Staré mesto

Budvar, from the town of Ceské Budejovice in southern Bohemian, is probably the best known Bohemian beer apart from the Pilsner. Try is here on tap out in the garden in summer.
