Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, is crammed with historical buildings including Edinburgh Castle perched high on a rocky crag. Stroll down the Royal Mile, an ancient cobbled street and visit the many speciality shops selling whisky, bagpipes and tartan.
Princes Street offers a great view of the castle, but if its retail therapy you are looking for, then this is the spot. Make sure you leave enough time for refreshments in the many colourful bars and restaurants Edinburgh has to offer.
Glasgow, the shopping capital of Scotland, is crammed with designer boutiques, stylish restaurants and lively pubs. There is much to see and experience, from art galleries, museums and shopping to the city’s colourful nightlife, restaurants and wine bars.
For a completely different experience why not visit the Scottish Highlands, one of Europe’s last true wilderness areas. Hike through hauntingly beautiful Glen Coe; visit romantic Gretna Green; stop at Inverness for a spot of "Nessie" hunting, or splurge on a night or two in a medieval castle.

Beehive Inn
18-20 Grassmarket, Edinburgh
Originally a coaching inn this 400 year old traditional pub stands on the cobbled streets of Grassmarket. Traditional bar snacks including haggis served with tatties & neeps (potatoes & turnips) are served throughout the day in the downstairs bar. If you are looking for something a little bit more romantic then the dim lights and wooden beams of Rafters restaurant offers grilled salmon and the most delicious mussles (evenings only).
The Witchery Restaurant
High Street (Royal Mile), Edinburgh
Originally built for an Edinburgh merchant in 1595, this unique building houses a restaurant which will create a memorable dining experience. Situated at the gates of Edinburgh Castle ‘The Witchery’ has developed a world wide reputation offering an a la carte menu for lunch or dinner 7 days a week. And you never know - you may spot the odd celebrity or two!

What to See
Arthur’s Seat
An extinct volcano in the heart of Edinburgh makes a pleasant but active workout. With wonderful views of the City and facing the sea this natural wonder will leave you breathless!!!
Greyfriar’s Bobby
A Skye Terrior maintained a vigil at his master’s grave for over 14 years between 1858-1872. Locals fed and cared for the dog during this time and is immortalised by Eleanor Atkinson novel. A statue now dedicated to Bobby and stands outside Greyfriar’s Kirkyard.
