Visit the Temple Cave

Don’t miss a trip to the temple cave, Suwannakhuha, known to the locals as Wat Tham. Historically and archaeologically important, this temple contains fascinating Buddha images including a huge reclining structure, royal monogram inscriptions, terracotta and Benkarong ware and walls lined with ceramic tiles.

See the turtles

If you’re in the area in March, don’t miss the Turtle Release Fair, a seven-day celebration as hundreds of tiny baby turtles are released into the sea at Thai Muang Beach.

Four times a year turtles come up onto the beach to lay their eggs and the fisheries department steps in to protect and raise the babies until they are old enough to be released – a real treat for all the family.
