In 1922, King Rama VII chose Hua Hin as the site for his summer palace, resulting in Thailand’s first seaside resort. Today, it offers great beaches and stunning scenery.
Fit for a King
Check out Hua Hin’s railway station. Designed as a royal waiting room for the King, it follows the flamboyant patterns of the summer palace.
Muay Thai
Catch some Muay Thai action at the Grand Sports Arena or Mr Chop Rawee’s Thai Boxing Garden. Five matches are held on fight nights with performances starting at 9pm. You can also attend Thai boxing seminars at the Muay Thai School.
Night Market
A great place to sample some of Hua Hin’s famous seafood is at the Chatchai Night Market where you can take advantage of the mass fish-cooking extravaganza. The market itself is also worth a look for traditional Thai bargains.
